The illustrations could not be improved- large, color photos showing in wonderfully vivid detail the remarkable beauty and craftsmanship of the jewelry. an especially lovely aspect of the book is the text, which explains who owned the pieces and how the piece came to be at Christie's. There is also a brief history of the auction house.
