This is a wonderful example of the work by the French-American company, Freirich, who made jewelry for designers such as. Christian Dior and Chanel, between the 1920s through the 1990s. This brooch has several layers: the bottom is made of ornate patterned petals, surmounted by prong set diamond shaped black beads. Above is a circlet of faux peals alternating with round black beads, which is then crowned with four larger diamond shaped black stones. It measures 2.5” across, and is in excellent condition.
